Gandhi, my Father

Gandhi My father - Movie Poster

Let’s look at some headlines in India today:

Let’s look at the NY Times coevrage about the Indian region in the recent times:

If you still haven’t got the connection, India the land of the Gandhi, and which extolls the world (as recent as now with Sonia at the UN) on the vitures of non-violence, is totally silent on the brutal and bloody crackdown on the Budhist monks protesting against a tyrannical junta in Myanmar. For the record, the monks were on a peace march and in a way Gandhi would have approved.

How shameless can we be? How can we criticize another country for fighting a war for oil, when we can’t stop blooshed or even record a statement against it for the same lousy oil and some piddly commerce.

Gandhi, now remains the poor father, who is quoted often, but it is the rich uncle to whom we shamelessly turn towards and do all things our father would have never approved of.
