Those who have seen this movie would have enjoyed the detailed plan thieves make and which almost occupies four-fifths of the movie. The last part when the robbery actually takes place and the climax bring up a nice story to a great end.
What happens however when the theft involved is not tangible but say personal data. If some hacker steals credit card information from say a Company A for fun while someone else uses the same to defraud another company say Company B, to what extent is the first comapny liable to the second one? Are consumers adequately protected in all this? And how does the Company A manage its PR, while they need to be true to their customers, can they also somehow avoid all the lawsuits that follow such disclosure?
Read this nice HBR case study here, and though you still may have some unanswered questions, the big ones get cleared up. Go on and enjoy … it is legal and still free …
